A goal at last! Lionel Messi net his first Paris goal and it has to be against his former boss.

Lionel Messi finally opened his goal account for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as the French Champions defeated Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League at the Parc des Princes, Paris.

Idrissa Gueye shocked the visitors in the eighth minute as he pounced on a loose ball inside the box to beat the goalkeeper for a shot into the top right corner.

It was Manchester City who dominated the game from there on but unable to utilize any of their chances.

After featuring in different kinds of debut, the Argentine magician, Lionel Messi smashes in a well crafted goal in which he started the build up and made a fast one-two through ball with Mbappe to create some space on the edge of the penalty box before smashing the ball into the right corner in the 74th minute.

According to Opta, Lionel Messi has scored more UEFA Champions League goals against Man City (7) than any other player, while his seven goals against sides managed by Pep Guardiola (two vs Bayern Munich, five against Man City with him as manager) are also the most of any player.
