Patson Daka is the first Zambian player in the competition’s history to score a Premier League goal, with 105 different nations now having a goalscorer in the competition.
Zambia’s Patson Daka scored in Leceister City’s 4-2 win over Manchester United at the King Power Stadium on Saturday to become first Zambian score in the English Premier League.
Daka who has started life slowly with two appearances in Europa League and one appearance without a goal in the league chose to score his first against Manchester United. A goal that seals the win and ended United’s 29-match unbeaten away run in the League.
Called upon in the 77th minute, the substitute put the icing on the cake in the added time with just one minute to end the tie which gave Leicester City their third win against Manchester United in a row. A follow up pass from Youri Tieleman saw Daka left to tap in the ball to the net.
Scoring 34 goals in 42 appearances last season to help RB Salzburg to the Austrian title, the 23-year-old was named the player of the season last season. The Zambian forward went on to joined Leceister for £23m in August from Red Bull Salzburg.
