The former Algerian gymnast Hayet Kebir married Eric Abidal in 2003 and the couple have five children together.

According to TV3, Jennifer Losada, Hayet’s lawyer, has issued a statement to explain and justify it. Although the text is very brief, it makes it clear that the reason for Hayet Abidal’s decision has to do with the attack on the former Barça player, currently at PSG .

Forced by the circumstances and with distaste for the Hamraoui case, Hayet Abidal will request a divorce in Barcelona,” Jennifer Losada, Hayet Abidal’s lawyer announced this Friday.

According to AFP, the statement said that the former sports director of Barça “confessed to his wife to have an adulterous relationship with Ms. Hamraoui”. The discovery of Kheira Hamraoui’s phone chip, owned by Eric Abidal, forced the former French international to to admit to an extra-marital affair with Hamraoui.

It should be remembered that both Eric Abidal and his wife are being investigated for a possible revenge for an alleged infidelity and that the woman has asked to testify voluntarily as soon as possible to “put an end to the rumor” that links her to the Hamraoui case.
