D1Arkema: Nnadozie’s Paris FC beat Sunday Esther’s Dijon, Zogg’s Soyaux defeat Okoronkwo’s Saint-Etienne

A week after their defeat against Bordeaux, Paris FC win 0-2 away from home at Dijon, thanks to goals from Coumba Sow and Ouleymata Sarr.

Super Falcons save hands, Chiamaka Nnadozie was in post for Paris while Dijon captain and former Super Falcons captain, Desire Oparanozie was out due to injury, but another Nigerian international, Sunday Esther started from bench for Dijon before replacing Inês Barrier in the 79th minute.

Paris FC took advantage of the first defensive mistakes in the 53rd minute to break the deadlock through Coumba Sow wonderful strike before Ouleymata strikes from a tight angle doubled the lead with ten minutes of regular time to play.

Paris maintained third position with three points above Fleury 91, three points behind PSG and six points behind Lyon as we head to the winter break.

In another sisterhood encounter, Onyinyechi Zogg and her Soyaux team welcomed Esther Okoronkwo’s Saint-Etienne to a 2-1 win on Saturday at the Stade Léo Lagrange. Zogg played all minutes for Soyaux while Okoronkwo came off the bench to replace Chaumette in the 61st minute.

Barely two minutes after kick-off, Laury Jesus saw her strike crashed into the crossbar. The visitors keep pushing towards the attack and finally had the breakthrough in the 20th minute when Marie-Charlotte Léger slotted into her own net following a scramble in the area before Shana Battouri restored parity for the hosts in the 71st minute.

Substitute, Esther Okoronkwo almost restore the visitors lead when Laury Jesus cross hit the head of the striker. The hosts finally take the advantage a few minutes (84) from the end of regulation time through Anissa Lahmari assisted by Laura Bourgouin.

Soyaux moved up to ninth position with seven points from nine games and three points behind Dijon and one point behind Stade de Reims.
