Watch Robo’s Osahon reacts to Bayelsa’s Adukwu ‘you are the ones spoiling the league’ comment

FC Robo Queens coach Emmanuel Osahon has berated the unsportsmanlike behaviour of Bayelsa Queens coach Moses Adukwu after a 1-0 win in a tension-soaked NWFL Premiership tie at the Legacy Pitch, Lagos.

The encounter which marked the six meetings between the two top-flight in 2021, with the Yenegoa side winning thrice, while the Lagos team twice in the last five tension-soaked clashes.

Despite winning the Winners Golden Bet WGB Lagos FA Cup a day before, FC Robo turned out to be the better side with several efforts on goal and hit the cross bar but still could not find a breakthrough until late in the game.

Shukurat Oladipo slotted in from a goalmouth scramble in the 83rd minute to seal a vital win for the home side which ended Bayelsa Queens’ unbeaten run.

This was not well received by the visiting coach who attributed his side’s defeat to poor officiating and deliberate cheating as he was heard, saying: “you are the ones spoiling the league.”

Who was he referring to? The opponent’s coach or the referee?

It turned out that Adukwu was referring to the referee but Osahon was stunned by his inactions. Speaking with Molatsportgist during his post match interview, the FC Robo coach expressed his shocked at his counterpart refusal to exchange pleasantries after the full-time whistle.

“I am surprised a coach of his caliber could utter such a statement. The game was balanced and his side’s have no chance whatsoever. We missed so many chances and we have a penalty call which the referee did not give,” said Osahon.

Adukwu who left the ground immediately after the game, did not turn up for his post match presser and hence unable to clear the air surrounding his on-the-pitch outburst.

The NWFL Premiership will go on a short Christmas break and matches will resume on the 12th of January 2022, when Bayelsa Queens will welcome FC Robo Queens to their Nembe township stadium for the return fixture on the 16th of March 2022.
