2022 Women All Stars Football Tournament Kickoff Its Annual Talent Discovery Program

Despite the effect of the global COVID-19 pandemic on sports at the grassroot level, with little or no financial support, the annual women’s All Stars football tournament is determined in its course of promoting and developing grassroot girls football.

The Association of the Nigerian Women Football Club Coaches as part of its efforts to develop female football at the grassroots level kicked off its 2022 edition of the annual All Stars women football tournament on Thursday, January 6, 2022.

All Stars tournament has been an avenue for discovering talents at raw level, nurtured into great potentials and introduced to the global platform since 1997.

The platform has produced loads of international talents and big names which is why it earned the full backing of the Ayisat Yusuf-Aromire Foundation.

It’s equally important to state that since the commencement of this yearly competition, many players that took part in it have ended up playing for one of the national teams be it Super Falcons, Falconets or Flamingoes.” – President of Association of Nigerian Women Football Club Coaches, Hanz Kralmer.

About 320 players were registered and grouped into two groups of six teams each, with five matches played on match day one.

The two weeks tournament will wrap up on January, 15 at the Legacy pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
