Ajibade hits brace to open 2022 goal account as Atléti demolish Villarreal

Nigeria international and Atlético de Madrid forward, Rasheedat Ajibade scored brace in her side 5-0 victory against newly promoted Villareal CF on Wednesday at the Villarreal Sports City.

Castellanos opened the scoring in the 24th minute before Tounkara doubled the lead with a beautiful header on the 31 minutes.

In the final stretch of the first half, Ajibade received from Maria Santos and cut through the goalkeeper, left alone in front of the goal mouth, she calmly converted her side’s third goal in the 43rd minute.

The Nigerian picked from where she stopped in the first half, scoring her second of the game just eight minutes into the second half, before making way for Hanna Lundkvist in the 65th minute.

Team captain Amanda Sampedro completed the rout from the 11-meter line against the yellow submarine.

Ajibade has now scored five league goals for Atlético de Madrid this season as they seat third on the log with 31 points from 15 games.
