U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier: No Victory In Douala For Falconets

Nigeria U20 women’s national team held Cameroon to a barren draw, in the first leg of the third qualifying round of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier at the Japoma Stadium in Douala on Saturday.

The two sides will face off for the second leg which comes up on February 5, 2022 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan in Lagos.

The Falconets have played in every edition of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup since the competition was launched as an U19 tournament in Canada in 2002, winning the silver medals in 2010 in Germany and in 2014 in Canada, and were semi finalists in 2012 in Japan.

The winner over the two legs will then slug it out with the winner between Senegal and Morocco to book a slot at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, as only two teams will represent the continent in Costa Rica 2022.
