The Nigeria U17 Women’s National Team, the Flamingos to begin preparations for their next FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifier encounter against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Head coach, Bankole Olowookeere has invited 35 players to the Abuja camp which opens on Monday, 7th February.
The Flamingos started their qualifying campaign two years ago beating Guinea home and away, before the global pandemic compelled FIFA to cancelled the 2020 competition but India retained the hosting right.
Nigeria will start this year’s campaign away to the Democratic Republic of Congo on March 6, 2022 in Kinshasa, with the return leg scheduled for the newly refurbished MKO Abiola Stadium on the 19th of March.
This is the first time that India host a FIFA women’s football tournament and it will held in four (4) different cities as the Championship will hold from 11th to 30th of October.
Three teams will represent the continent at FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, India 2022.
