The International Federation of Professional Footballers (FIFPRO) has added Super Falcons forward, Rasheedat Ajibade to its Global Player Council.
FIFPRO announced Ajibade’s appointment alongside two other players – Enez Mango (Farul Constanta/Kenya) and Marshall Munetsi (Reims/Zimbabwe) – on its Twitter page on Wednesday.

According to FIFPro, the council is made up of members with demonstrated leadership qualities to raise any issues they have. Its main objective is to ensure viewpoints from both men’s and women’s football and different leagues from around the world are heard.
The council will strengthen the capacity to address cross-border issues, such as the international match calendar, employment standards, the use of personal data, social media abuse, and more.
Speaking on the occasion of her inclusion in the Council, Ajibade said: “It’s important that the voices of players are heard. I’m looking forward to using my platform to help players in Africa and beyond.”

The Nigeria international who has excelled for Club Atlético de Madrid Féminas, joined the council alongside two other African athletes to bring the total number of players on the council to 34, which include big guns like Giorgio Chiellini, Lucy Bronze, Saki Kumagai, and Nicolas Tagliafico are all members of the council.

Kenya’s left-back and former Vihiga Queens Captain, Enez Mango, who trades her football at Farul Constanta of Romania said players should be consulted when making decisions which is why she joined the council.
“When it comes to choices that influence our employment, players should be consulted and have a say,” she stated.
“To make a difference, I’ve joined FIFPRO’s Global Player Council,” Mango added.
France based Warriors Midfielder Marshall Munetsi became the first Zimbabwean to be added on the influential FIFPRO Global Player Council to advocate for rights and interests of footballers around the world.

“Being a part of the Global Player Council means we can help footballers worldwide – such as protecting players against fake agents, or against government interference. I’m eager to get started,” said Reims’ Zimbabwean midfielder Munetsi.
The council assists FIFPRO and its 66 affiliated national player associations to represent footballers in negotiations about global issues that directly affect them.
