Super Falcons Earns First Draw Against Canada In Almost Three Decades

A last-gasp equalizer from Canada denied Super Falcons a famous win, as both teams settled for a 2-2 draw, in the second of their two legged friendly in Victoria on Tuesday.

Having been beaten 2-0 by the same side four days ago, the African champions Super Falcons started brightly and deservedly went ahead in the fifth minute when Onumonu converted a ball with a back heel near the opponent’s post.

The Randy Waldrum-led Super Falcons held on to the one goal advantage until the end of the first half.

Christine Sinclair equalised for Canada with a long range effort in the 48th minute, while the Super Falcons regained the lead five minutes later through Rasheed Ajibade.
