Senegal national team head coach, Aliou Cisse has revealed a 27-man final squad for the coming 33rd Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) which will take place in Cameroon next month.
The Teranga Lions are in Group B alongside Guinea, Zimbabwe and Malawi.
Liverpool star, Sadio Mane and UEFA Champions League best goalkeeper, Édouard Mendy of Chelsea are amongst 27 players called up to national duty by coach Aliou Cisse.

The team is one of the favourites to win the tournament after finishing runner-up twice in recent time (2002, 2019).
The ‘golden generation’ of Senegal will be desperate to grab its first ever AFCON title when the campaign kick off in January 2022.

Falode, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the management of FC Robo Football Club chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Osahon. “The Lagos State Governor just demonstrated with this gift that, he truly loves women’s football and he is committed to the development of sports in the state,” she stated.
“Sanwo-Olu just showed everyone in the state that he is quietly watching those doing well for the state in the area of sports, and this is very commendable, especially as FC Robo last season were close to winning the NWFL Premiership Super Six at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode.”
The ‘Lagos Landladies’ had the opportunity of winning the Premiership league title until the final game, but were unlucky in their last match against Delta Queens of Asaba, as they ended the season in the third position.
Falode added: “I want to say a bigger congratulations to the Lagos State Football Association headed by Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi and Otunba Tade Azeez for their worthy contributions to the development of FC Robo over the years. The Lagos FA demonstrated resilience and consistence in ensuring that the women league club gets to where they are today in the women’s league.
“By extension the Lagos State Governor, has contributed to the further development and standard of the Nigeria Women Football League. We are grateful for this milestone,” she concluded.
More than a month after the scandal involving two PSG players broke out, the ongoing investigation has unveiled some secrets involving the former French player Eric Abidal who has now testified on Tuesday as a witness not as a defendant to investigators in the case for the attack on the soccer player, Kheira Hamraoui.
The information was revealed by the newspaper L’Équipe, which indicated that Abidal’s wife, Hayet, had given a statement the day before.
Kheira Hamraoui, a 31-year-old French international, was returning from a dinner on November 4 in a vehicle with her teammate Aminata Diallo at the wheel and was the victim of an attack by two individuals, who struck her several times “in the legs with a bar of iron”.
According to reports, Hamraoui told investigators that her mobile card was “in the name of her ex” and they established that was Eric Abidal, who’s Barcelona’s sports director from 2018 to 2020, years in those that the soccer player belonged to the Spanish club.
The former player and former Barça sports director acknowledged via a instagram post days after the attack on Hamraoui that he had had an intimate relationship with her and apologized to his wife, Hayet who was then considering divorce.
Eye witnesses said they had heard the assailants say: “So what happens? Do you sleep with married men?“. A phrase that generated rumors about a possible involvement of Hayat Abidal.
Hayet Abidal explained on Tuesday on her Instagram account that she was “relieved” and “happy” for having declared the day before to the police “as a simple witness” in this investigation.
“I was finally heard yesterday afternoon by the French Versailles police, as I had requested, and simply as a witness. I hope I have helped the investigation. Very soon my future ex-husband will be heard. My best wishes to all of you during this vacation. Take care! ” Hayet wrote, attaching an image to the front of the Court of Versailles, where the investigation continues to clarify what happened.
FC Robo Queens coach Emmanuel Osahon has berated the unsportsmanlike behaviour of Bayelsa Queens coach Moses Adukwu after a 1-0 win in a tension-soaked NWFL Premiership tie at the Legacy Pitch, Lagos.
The encounter which marked the six meetings between the two top-flight in 2021, with the Yenegoa side winning thrice, while the Lagos team twice in the last five tension-soaked clashes.
Despite winning the Winners Golden Bet WGB Lagos FA Cup a day before, FC Robo turned out to be the better side with several efforts on goal and hit the cross bar but still could not find a breakthrough until late in the game.
Shukurat Oladipo slotted in from a goalmouth scramble in the 83rd minute to seal a vital win for the home side which ended Bayelsa Queens’ unbeaten run.
This was not well received by the visiting coach who attributed his side’s defeat to poor officiating and deliberate cheating as he was heard, saying: “you are the ones spoiling the league.”
Who was he referring to? The opponent’s coach or the referee?
It turned out that Adukwu was referring to the referee but Osahon was stunned by his inactions. Speaking with Molatsportgist during his post match interview, the FC Robo coach expressed his shocked at his counterpart refusal to exchange pleasantries after the full-time whistle.
“I am surprised a coach of his caliber could utter such a statement. The game was balanced and his side’s have no chance whatsoever. We missed so many chances and we have a penalty call which the referee did not give,” said Osahon.
Adukwu who left the ground immediately after the game, did not turn up for his post match presser and hence unable to clear the air surrounding his on-the-pitch outburst.
The NWFL Premiership will go on a short Christmas break and matches will resume on the 12th of January 2022, when Bayelsa Queens will welcome FC Robo Queens to their Nembe township stadium for the return fixture on the 16th of March 2022.
It’s match week three of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership as matches were played across six centres in the country on Wednesday evening.
Nasarawa Amazons and Rivers Angels run riots on their respective opponent winning 4-0 apiece. FC Robo Queens and Delta Queens managed a narrow victory while Edo Queens held Confluence Queens to a 1-1 draw and new comers, Naija Ratels continued on their fairytale start to the season after finishing Adamawa Queens.
Amazons welcomed ‘Omoluabi Babes’ to their Lafia Stadium. Chinyere Kalu opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Sunday Abigail scored the second and fourth goal in the 38th and 83rd minute respectively as Amarachi Okoronkwo scored the third in the 43rd minute.
Rivers Angels demolished the Palace of Royal Queens, with their old servants netting twice. Maryann Ezeanagu broke the deadlock in the 31st minute with a great header, before CAF Women’s Champions League star girl Deborah Abiodun doubled the visitors’ lead in the 48th minute. Former Royal Queens midfielder, Chiamaka Okwuchuku then broke the heart of her former team as she scored a brace (83 and 90+3) against the ‘Canadian Geese’.
Confluence Queens perfect start to the season –winning two games from two– was brought to a pause after being held by visiting Edo Queens, at the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja. Akudo Ogbonna gave the visitors the lead in the 19th minute from the penalty spot, before Georgewill Ibinabo levelled up for the home team in the 68th minute.
In the blockbuster fixture of the day, the better side grinded out a vital goal, as FC Robo Queens secured a 1-0 victory against Bayelsa Queens. Despite the visiting goalkeeper masterclass, Shukurat Oladipo scrabbled in a goal in the 83rd minute.

In Abuja, new comers, Naija Ratels continued to impress after beating Adamawa Queens 5-2 at the Area 10 Sports Complex. The ‘One Day At A Time’ Ladies conceded first through Ijeoma Obi in the 4th minute – but fought back with goals from Olamide Adugbe (56 and 74), Motunrayo Ezekiel (60 and 80) and Adesina Tunmininu (88mins) – before Emmanuel Mbosowo got one back for the visitors in the 90th minute.
Delta Queens were victorious over Sunshine Queens, thanks to the early goal from Peace Abbey in the 6th minute.
The NWFL Premiership will go on a short Christmas break and matches will resume on the 12th of January 2022.
Hasaacas Ladies defender Perpetual Agyekum has completed a move to Norwegian side, Avaldsnes IL on a two-and-a-half-year deal.
This comes following her spectacular performance in the just ended CAF Women’s Champions League, where Hasaacas Ladies finished second to Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
The 27-year-old astute left-back is known for her outrageous set-piece conversions. She contributed two goals and five assists during Champions League, an outstanding performance that saw her among the tournament’s best XI as selected by CAF.
She will team up with her teammate Evelyn Badu who also secured a move to the club on Tuesday on a two-and-half year contract until 2024.
